Edward (EJ) Baracree
Sr. Vice - Marines
EJ was born in
Jacksonville, FL in July 1987 and moved to Chicago before his first birthday
due to his parents divorcing. His lived
with his mother and older brother Jay, until he got into High School and then
moved in with his father. Both EJ and
his father were into cars, and he helped his father buy, fix, and sell a
variety of cool cars: Corvettes, Cutlass 442s, Mercedes, BMWs, 69 Chevelles, 69
Corvette tri power, Corvettes with 4 speed manual 66 split window to name just
a few
In January 2008 EJ when to boot camp in San Diego Bravo Company Platoon 1023. This is where he met his first mentor: Drill Instructor, SSGT Soetart. SSGT Soetart was an infantry Marine and just embodied everything EJ believed a Marine should be in every way. Because of this influence EJ knew that one day he would become a Drill Instructor himself and make a difference in people’s lives.
Once he completed Boot Camp and MCT he attended Motor Vehicle Operator Course at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri.
EJ applied to the Drill
Field and served on the depot from 2015 to 2018. EJ was selected to become a Marine
Corps Instructor of Water Survival (MCIWS).
He went on Terminal leave in December 2021 and
moved to Arizona where he started a civilian career. He received his DD-214 in March 2022. He joined the Casa Grande MCL Detachment 901
in April 2023.
